The Tamarisk land, 12 beautiful acres by the sea, has been in the family since 1850. The Tamarisk Murat Beach Hotel first opened to guests with 12 rooms and a small restaurant in 1984. The guests at that time were mainly from Ankara, intellectuals, and artists from the theatre and beyond, who were escaping the cities for the tranquility of untouched nature, clean air, sea and the good life. In 1987 the hotel began working with a UK tour operator and an international crowd mixed with the local. In 1996 the family designed the hotel as it is today and spent the next 2 years building during the wintertime and opening to their loyal guests and their friends in the summers. For the next 10 years The Tamarisk worked with tour operators but now, since 2009, with years of experience and having built strong relationships with guests, the hotel is filled year after year with direct bookings.

Still run by the family today, Faik, Sevilay, Gulsah and Murat are at the hotel throughout the summer season and welcome their guests personally with a unique warmth and hospitality. The family and their friendly staff are always on hand making sure guests have a relaxing, enjoyable and unforgettable stay.

The Tamarisk offers famously good food and this is just one of the reasons guests return here to stay year after year!

The open-air terrace restaurant serves delicious traditional local and international cuisine, a mouthwatering range of both vegetarian and meat dishes, and a changing selection of Turkish Meze every day.

At sunset the restaurant extends to the beach where tables are laid for dining under the stars! For light bites and snacks throughout the day, the Snack Bar has a menu for all tastes.
